A journey through Corinthians

1 Corinthians 1

Vs. 4-9 "I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge— even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you— so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."

This passage totally hit me in the face and God said... "Halie, let's see where in this story you fit in." ouch! I know what i have done wrong and God is totally convicting me and challenging me on what to fix, because in the end we are not just "safe" to do whatever we want, we are called to love unconditionally, forgive infinitely, and bring Glory, honor, power, and praise to our Savior.

1 Corinthians 2 (Verses 1-10)
"And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written,
"What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him" these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God."

Wouldn't it be amazing if we, as humans, had the wisdom and knowledge of God? it would cause so much chaos in the world, that we would have no need of a God who loves us and takes care of us, It's a scary thought. I remember at one point in my life, these past few years, I have asked God to give me His eyes, so that I may see the beauty in His creation, and gain the utmost respect for those who are different than I. god did not just hand it over though. He gave me opportunities to love, and show His love. The spirit of revival in our world is becoming more and more common, so we MUST all LOVE, love, LOVE. The body is broken and the pain is immeasurable, but there is ONE thing that can make it all whole again! We have that gift, we know His name, and we must start it! We cannot afford to sit around and wait for "that girl" to say hello to the unlovely in our schools, work, or churches, we cannot wait around for "him" to donate his time, we must do it! God told us to "Go into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" and to "baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." What do we have to lose? friends? family? a job? our significant other? life? God told us the greatest act of love is to lay down our lives for the sake of our friend, but it is hard. And i know this, but what if we all started living the way HE intended? We just might see the earth shake! the mountains moved! the high rulers bowing to THE TRUE VICTORIOUS RULER, and every knee bow before our King. Maybe, just maybe, instead of walking past the homeless guy on the streets, we stop and talk to him, find out his story, pray for him, hand him a couple of dollars, and invite him to church, how hard could that possibly be? I urge you, brothers, and sisters, Love the unlovely, for Jesus loved us.
